Schoolhouse: a 2-channel sound composition comprised of sonic and musical field recordings. The idea of a “field recording” being of the lived world, instead of being of the perfected recording studio, is one that is pondered throughout this piece. The intention was to begin with a familiar musical element, and continue by adding textures to create a sonic palette in which the musical and non-musical are indiscernible.

before they closed the forest: Forests are defining geographical landmarks that have emotional, spiritual, and physical significance for humans. This music explores the loss of forests through musical interpretation of forest environments, loss of homeland, and the emotional belonging of people.
